Our dedicated sketchhouse becomes both home and studio – a place to live, learn, and draw together.

Outdoors, we’ll sketch during a mountain hike and a boat trip on Lake Uri – connecting focused learning with spontaneous creativity.

About Maru Godàs

Maru Godàs is an illustrator and sketcher from Barcelona. With over 18 years of experience, she has worked for publishers such as National Geographic, Planeta De Agostini, and the “La Caixa” Foundation.

She is the author of several illustrated books, including Organic Beauty and a sketched guide to Park Güell. Maru now focuses on painting, book illustration, and leading workshops and art retreats around the world.

  • What you will learn

    Artistic skills:

    Work with gouache, acrylic, Neocolor, and coloured pencils to create personal colour palettes and explore overpainting, collage, and mixed media. Develop on-location sketches into larger works and refine your own visual language through guided analysis and reflection.

    Experiential skills:

    Sketch in diverse settings — mountains, lakes, and villages — while adapting to shifting light and movement. Daily journaling, shared discussions, and a final group exhibition strengthen both creative focus and confidence.

    Our Sketchhouse at Landhaus Axenfels in Morschach overlooks Lake Uri and the Swiss Alps. We live, learn, and create under one roof in an immersive studio setting. Each participant enjoys privacy in a single room or shared apartment, while shared spaces – the studio, garden, and long table for tavolata-style meals – bring everyone together.
